Gym Monster...

Honestly, imo there is very few that would actually be allowed to post here if you treated us all the same. I'm not saying you should treat us all the same either, why should you treat someone such as C-Dawg the same as GymMonster? This board is a nut house a lot of times, and I respect what our mods do here but I do think it is fairly obvious to see that we as a board are running off very informed and positive posters.

I will say this, if more and more people continue to get access to the OldTimers Club I will take more of my stuff to private pm's amongst people I know and trust. Like I said it's just not worth it, I've already started doing so and continue to send more and more to pm's. It's just my personal preference, not sure how the rest of the members feel about that.

No, everyone posting here is fine by me. I didn't have a problem with Gym Monster, but he broke the rules. He was banned, and wasn't allowed back, and got back on here again..

I treat everyone on here the same.

I just don't agree with anybody on here trying to "pull people in", and get them to go off or something. I take a stand against that, and that only.

I will not allow anyone to access this board, unless I know who they are personally.

It was pretty much known who he was when he first started posting again. I think it's been about 2 weeks since word got out he was pac/weed/hokie/gym. Why did it take 2 weeks? Did he do something else?

some pm's here and there, and how fast he started going again on the religion forum, I believe.

We as mods, actually discussed the option of banning or not too.. It seriously has taken a bit to come to a decision.
We did vote, and he was voted away.
He was banned.. he broke the rule of creating false names, etc.. to come back.. thus, banned again.

This is an open forum or as I know it. You can't pick and choose who makes contributions. Sometimes people get a little carried away with their contributions.I have been on this board for a day or so,,, and read a whole lot more than I post.. I can see as well as a lot of other posters what is right or wrong... the problems that occur can be easily be discovered by 'clicking' and 'reading'. I 'ain't' mad at anyone...I just like being here, reading and continuing to enjoy what information is available.

Thats great, there is just a whole other element when everybody knows who you are.

Its the biggest reason why I always made a habit of not trying to know people, it wasn't trying to be a jerk, just made it easier to be as fair as possible. If you don't do what someone thinks you should one time and they find any reason to scream about it, they will.

I actually didn't know GymMonster is/was who he was till the last few days, mainly because my time has been severely limited on here, and trying to figure out options on what to do with the board. I actually figured, like has been done before, it was someone 'pretending to be him'. We've had people post in a style before to try and immitate someone.

I really do not like to ban people. I also don't like people taking things too personal or trying to get people in trouble in the real world with things they know or find out. It's silly. I'm not a fan of outting people, I know who a lot of people are on here, people that never post, and I have no desire to reveal them. Some people, the moment they find out who someone is, can't wait but to figure out a way to use that against them.

It's a message board, it shouldn't be used as gospel or anything along those lines.

The request was made for Biggin to be back and I did reinstate him. However when someone comes on and cusses someone out, basically tells the mods to go F themselves, you dont reward that behavior, do you? I mean being knowledgeable is great and lord knows we love having knowledgeable posters, but most of the time, with being able to have an intelligent discussion, comes the ability to behave within accepted manners. If someone is a long time poster, who has shown some credibility, obviously we give them a bit more latitude, which is better than some places. That being said, if the smartest, most informed person in the world goes on tv and can't discuss something without them having to bleep 50% of what he says, does it really have that much credibility?

In general, this forum is very laid back and we try to not go to pieces on every attempt to circumvent the profanity filter. I pretty much have stated before, RIP Carlin, but we pretty much only try to worry so much about his words you can't say on tv.

Do we make mistakes? No doubt. Every mod has made them, sometimes we'll be in a bad mood and less forgiving. Sometimes we may think someone is funny and give them a bit more freedom, etc.

The thing is, you don't have to agree with us, I'm sure that there are times we won't agree with you. If someone can explain something rational to me, or even attempt to show some remorse, I'm willing to give people chances, because at the end of the day, this is just a message board/forum.

Have we lost some good posters over time? No doubt but some of the good posters have family members graduate and moved on, some get tired of not being able to talk without being cut, there are reasons upon reasons.

As for the old timers forum, I dont add just anybody. I pretty much need to know someone, or have someone who is an old time member vouch for them, not just being of age, but showing the ability to post in an adult manner. And I should add that there are a handful that are on a short list, basically one screw up and they can go back to the regular board.

It's not perfct, never will be and its a constantly changing system.
